EUNC 1s vs. Aberdeen 1s
Score: 67-14
Last Saturday EUNC 1s faced their toughest competition of the season. A solid Friday morning training session put the team in good spirits for their game on Saturday, and they certainly did not disappoint. Determination and clinical play immediately put the 1s ahead of Aberdeen, with excellent shooting from Lauren Pollock and Chloe Logan. Despite the fact Aberdeen put up a good fight in the remaining three quarters, the 1s were able to extend their lead due to flying interceptions from Dionne Doricott and solid defence in the circle. A special mention needs to go to defence who only ever let Aberdeen score at most 5 goals in 15 minutes. Clearly all the hard work at training is paying off!
EUNC 2s vs. St Andrews 1s
Score: 27-56
This Saturday the 2s faced St Andrew's 1s at home. It was another tough match for the 2s, but they stayed in the game right up to the final whistle. Excellent defensive play put pressure on the strong St Andrew's attack and shooters but, unfortunately, the 2s just missed out on half points.
The player of the match went to Emily Criddle! Her debut run at the centre position gave the 2s a much needed boost of speed and intensity. Excellent attacking and defensive play right until the end, well done Emily!
It was unfortunate that the 2s game away with a loss, but lots was learnt and will be taken forward into their next game against Aberdeen 1s. Good luck to the 2s!
EUNC 3s vs. EUNC 4s
Score: 46-38
The 3s versus 4s game is always extremely competitive and this year was no different. The 3s went out strong from the start, challenging every ball and creating a lot of pressure with some excellent full court defence. However, the 4s managed to hold the 3s goal for goal for three quarters. It was in the last quarter that the 3s managed to secure a lead. Impressive fitness alongside some excellent defensive interceptions and Jenni Scott's fabulous shooting gave the 3s the win. However, it must be noted that it was such a good game from both sides!
The 4s took on the EUNC 3s on Saturday. It was a game everyone was looking forward to and nerves were high! With excellent shooting from Beth Baker and tight circle defence from Pri Asodaria and Hannah Spratt, the 4s managed to keep the score equal until the end of the 3rd quarter.
Although the 4s had done so well for the first 45 minutes, energy levels dropped resulting in mistakes that enabled the 3s to go ahead. Despite this, the close scoreline reflects the competitiveness of these teams and the breadth of talent EUNC has!
Player of the match went to Beth Baker for her excellent shooting.
EUNC 5s vs. Aberdeen 3s
Score: 32-27
This weekend was the 5's toughest match yet. The whole team had to step up the intensity and rise to the challenge, and that they did! The first three quarters were tight, however, in the final 15 minutes, the 5s managed to secure a 5 goal lead and hold onto it until the final whistle. A tight but very well deserved win!
A special mention should go to Hannah Kistruck who was voted player of the match.
EUNC 6s vs. Aberdeen 4s
Score: 64-16
The 6s had a great first home game this Saturday against Aberdeen 4s! Fantastic defence resulted in numerous turnovers and these were quickly converted into goals with excellent shooting from Maddie Hobbs and Niamh Taylor.
The 6s are hoping to maintain this momentum as they head to Aberdeen on Saturday for an away game against Aberdeen 3s. Good luck to them!
EUNC 7s vs. Dundee 4s
Score: 74-14
It was another amazing game for the 7s on Saturday against Dundee 4s The scoreline says it all really - the 7s smashed it! Player of the match went to Tanya for intercepting too many passes to keep count. Well done girls!
