Match Report: EUNC 6 WIN FIRST BUCS MATCH

Saturday 8th September the second week of BUCS, was a quiet one for EUNC, with only one match to be played.

Edinburgh 6th team took on Queen Margaret 1st team, in their first BUCS match of the seasaon. The 6th team were promoted at the end of last season to Scottish 5A BUCS division, after an emense season finishing with a goal difference of 381!

The Edinburgh side got off to a strong start and took an early lead. There was excellent play by both teams in the second quarter with some great defensive work by both sides. Gaya Gole proved herself in the defensive circle in her EUNC debut, with some excellent interceptions and tips on the ball.

QMU came back out fighting in the second half and narrowed Edinburgh’s lead significantly. However, it was Edinburgh who went out to finish strong in the final quarter with some brilliant shooting throughout leading to a final score of 56-30. Fantastic team spirit shown in the first match of the season for the 6ths. A special mention has to go out to the freshers Ottilie Black, Eliza Waskett, Ellie Kooiman and Gaya Gole making their EUNC debuts.
